FERMAT'S CURVE

Pierre Fermat (1601-1655): French mathematician. |

Cartesian equation: (n integer > 1) (Lamé curve)
Algebraic curve of degree n, non-rational for n > 3 |

The Fermat-Wiles theorem consists in the strange fact that the curve avoids, when *n* >
3 all the points with both coordinates rational, which form a dense subset of the plane.
