QUINTIC


The quintics are the algebraic curves of degree 5.

Examples:
    - the L'Hospital quintic.

    - a beautiful example that can be an exercise for undergraduates: 

The Cartesian equation  is that of a sextic that is composed of the line y = 0 and the above quintic.
     - another one (non-rational): (not to mistake for the right serpentine 2)
The Cartesian equation  is that of a curve with degree 10 that is composed of this quintic and its symmetric image about Ox:
